On December 21, the third stream of students of the Corporate MBA programme completed their learning at the Corporate University of Russian Railways. The teams defended project ideas aimed at developing innovative transport and logistics technologies in the Far Eastern region.

The "Corporate MBA" has been implemented at the Corporate University of Russian Railways since 2018, is included in the complex of programmes for the development of the Holding's talent pool and complies with international standards of business education. This year, 35 company executives from all over the network have started learning – these are the most successful graduates of the talent pool development programmes of the Corporate University of Russian Railways.

The programme included many formats – online lectures, seminars, master classes, work with tutors and experts, visits to the production sites. The whole range of management issues was touched upon, as well as issues of historical development and cultural characteristics of the Far East and the Asia-Pacific regions. The audience was addressed by representatives of the Russian and foreign academic environment and business.

"The students of the "Corporate MBA" are representatives of various functional areas of the Company. Therefore, special attention in the programme is paid not only to the development of their managerial competencies, but also to the creation of an environment for professional communication, exchange of experience –said Andrey Shobanov, Deputy Director for Scientific and Methodological Work at the Corporate University of Russian Railways. – The knowledge gained by the participants will undoubtedly be applicable in their daily management practice".

The visiting module of the programme took place in October. This year it was held for the first time in Vladivostok – at the Far Eastern branch of the Corporate University of Russian Railways on Russky Island. The participants of the programme got acquainted with the peculiarities of business in the Asia-Pacific region, met with colleagues from FESCO, visited the most important logistics clusters of the region – the Nakhodka railway junction, the coal and container terminals of the Vostochny Port, visited the production sites of the "Mazda Sollers" plant and the "Pacific Logistics" company.

"Developing the "Corporate MBA" programme, we understand that the key word here is "corporate". So, these are the interests of the "Russian Railways". And Russian Railways has a huge number of tasks in the Far Eastern region. Those who study under the programme, and these are the best graduates of the programmes of the Corporate University of Russian Railways, should know very deeply, including the issues of the development of the Far Eastern region, since they solve these tasks not only locally, but also from Moscow, the Company's central office", –said Roman Baskin, Director of the Corporate University of Russian Railways.

During the four months of learning, students in seven teams developed project ideas on topics relevant to the development of the Holding. Last Tuesday they presented seven projects: "Vladivostok City Express", "Smart Container", "Far Eastern Hydrogen Corridor", "Locovagon. Autonomous Shuttle Platform", "Container Logistics - Hub Concept", "MOBILDOM. Passenger Transportation in Long-Distance Communication", "InfoCifra. Infrastructure Load Monitoring".

"As part of the work on the projects, it was very interesting to get acquainted with the specifics of the transport enterprises of the Far East. This is a great opportunity to look at how similar problems are being solved in other industries", –said Natalia Naydenova, a programme participant, Deputy Head of the Department for Improving the Efficiency of JSC "Russian Railways".

The projects were assessed by the attestation commission chaired by Honored Economist of Russia, Full State Councilor of the First Class, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nikolay Stolyarov. The expert committee included Roman Baskin – Director of the Corporate University of Russian Railways, Maria Savina – Deputy Head of the Russian Railways Personnel Management Department, Alexander Miskaryan – General Director of "RZD-Technologies", Andrey Kulinich – Visiting Professor at Innopolis University, Andrey Prokhorovich – General Director of the Eurasia Development Limited Venture Company.

"Students' projects are extremely relevant for Russian Railways. Most of them are aimed at improving the quality of customer service of the company, as well as expanding the range of services provided. This means that the learners thought like investors, like businessmen. And as far as I can tell, the main task of the MBA is to form such thinking", –Alexander Miskaryan shared his opinion.
Graduates of the programme received diplomas of professional retraining under the "Corporate MBA" programme with the qualification "Master of Business Administration (MBA)".
